Blessed Carlo Acutis, born May 3, 1991, is known for his deep devotion to the Rosary, Our Lady, and the Holy Eucharist. Carlo also enjoyed playing soccer, playing video games, and was great with computers. In fact, Carlo combined his computer skills and love for the Eucharist to create an online database of Eucharistic miracles around the world.
Carlo died on October 12, 2006 at the age of 15 after being diagnosed with a type of Leukemia. He will become the first canonized "millennial" saint, and he challenges each of us to become saints too! Carlo shows us the road to sainthood through the Holy Eucharist: "When we face the sun we get a tan . . . but when we stand before Jesus in the Eucharist we become saints." On November 20, 2024, Pope Francis announced that Carlo will be canonized a saint on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 27, 2025! |
