July 17 Depart your city for Lima July 18 Private assistance at the airport upon arrival with guide, arranged lunch together, Day tour of Lima including the Cathedral, St. Rose of Lima Church, Santo Domingo Monastery, taking time to pray before the tombs of St. Rose and St. Martin de Porres, Mass Scheduled in one of the churches, evening and dinner at leisure. July 19 Breakfast at lodging, Private transfer to airport in Lima, flight to Cusco, Transfer to lodging and checkin. Day tour at leisurely pace of Cusco and nearby ruins (include Cathedral and La Compania Church). Mass scheduled in one of the local parishes. Dinner together. July 20 Breakfast at lodging, Take the Expedition Train for a full day tour to Macchu Picchu, one of the new “7 wonders of the modern world”. Marvel at the Incan’s advance engineering. July 21 Breakfast at lodging, mass at Cathedral, Depart Cusco for flight to Rio and WYD July 22 Arrive in Rio de Janeiro, check into lodging and experience an orientation tour of the city July 23 Ascend Corcovado to Christ the Redeemer Statue, recently elected as one of the seven modern wonders of the world, which sits 2,300 above sea level (subject to availability). WYD begins this evening with Mass July 24 Morning catechesis, afternoon and evening WYD events July 25 Morning catechesis, welcoming ceremony with our Holy Father July 26 Morning catechesis, afternoon WYD events, Stations of the Cross July 27 Pilgrimage to and participate in the Prayer Vigil with our Holy Father July 28 Morning Mass with our Holy Father, evening free July 29 Depart Rio for home or a post-WYD option *****Daily Mass included if you travel with a priest *****Local Masses when possible if you travel without a priest Because of limited flight capacity, groups will need to be flexible with the return date by two days.
